   ¢È Ganghwado island
Historic Ganghwado island is the fifth largest island of Korea, lies to the northwest of lnch'on, where the Han-gang River meets the Yellow Sea. On the island, there is a huge dolmen attesting to one of man's Neolithic burial methods. The Chemsongdan Altar on Mt. Manisan where ancestors paid tribute to the heavens. Jeondeungsa Temple is another historic tourist site on the island. The temple dates back to the ancient Three Kingdoms Period about 1,600 years ago. Its unique style of architecture and its iron bell are rarely seen nowadays. In addition to its historical traits, visitors may examine and purchase local products such as ginseng and rush mats in Ganghwado.
